After a while rust spots will arise on the Sweet iron bit. The horse likes the sweet taste of the rust and will produce more saliva and will salivate more which will encourages better acceptance of the bit. The blue colour of the bit gradually changes to gray/brown with rust spots visible on the mouthpiece. Clean the bit with a damp cloth as the rust sports turn orange. This may inter alia happen if the bit is temporarily not in use or is left in a humid place. |
